My schedule for today is full of cultural visits in Hiraizumi.
The main hall of the Motsu-Ji temple.
This is called a Yarimizu, a feed for the park lake which was discovered in 1984.
The Jogyodo building.
With its associated bell house.
Autumn leafs make this alley real scenic.
Arriving at the Chuson-Ji temple complex.
Many chrysanthemums can be seen here in November.
And of course more autumn leafs.
A mini pagoda with flowers close to the golden temple.
Nice area, if it wasn't raining all day.
Entering the shrine of the Chuson-Ji areal.
A special temple dug into the rocks - Takkoku no Iwaya.
View from the temple gallery into the garden.
Altar of the temple.
Face of Buddha cast into stone.
This is the view from the garden to the temple.
Genbikei gorge is close to the rock temple.
The restaurant on the other side of the gorge sells tea and cookies using a little ropeway.
Looking north at the gorge.
There's a lot of water today, not only in the river.
And the southern end of the gorge.
The have a nice suspension bridge there as well.
Nice area in front of Hiraizumi's JR station.
Fully equipped with restaurants and souvenir shops.
