Enjoying the observation car on my train ride to Yudanaka.	Let's hope that the switch is set correctly.	First sunshine since a few days.	Yudanaka is the end of this train line.
Super Express Yukemuri with observation car.	Welcome to Yudanaka, home of the snow monkeys.	Nice little shrine.	Enjoying the beautiful colors of autumn leafs in the sun with old style Japanese buildings.
All kinds of colors with those leafs.	The goddess of mercy and freedom in the worlds.	Yudanaka features many small bath houses.	Entrance to the Onsenji temple.
Perfectly colored maple leafs.	And a pretty big spider calls this maple tree home.	The temple entrance features carved dragons and a real wasps' nest.	Stairs leadng up to Onsenji temple.
Main hall of the temple.	And the associated cemetery behind the main hall.	First hot springs close to the snow monkey park.	Yokoyugawa river has formed this landscape.
The first snow monkey is waiting for the visitors right behind the entrance gate.	Looks like he has to inspect all new visitors.	Mama monkey is caring for her baby while constantly observing every movement around her.	Drying and cooling down after a hot bath.
Monkeys can also relax in the hot water.	Baby monkey doesn't look very happy after the bath.	I wonder what those monkeys think of all the people visiting them.	But they still enjoy their own onsen.
This onsen was specially created for the monkeys.	A cute baby monkey.	And the kids like to tussle.	While the older monkeys relax while being deloused.
And then they spend a lot of time to search for food.	The last warm sun rays can also be very pleasant.	Mama monkey shows to her baby how to collect the seeds.	And another shrine on the way back to Yudanaka.
This area hosts a lot of skiing areas, so the art on the bridge reflects this.
